I'm going to show some before and after pictures and try to explain in a few words what changes we made.

Brooke, Taylor and Brittany....sanding away!

We needed to sand all the cabinets, baseboard, trim and mouldingAll our hands were raw after all the sanding!

Here is the start of me painting yellow on the walls.  I had to two coats for the walls and two coats for the ceiling.

Jared sprayed the cabinets with an oil paint.  The paint color is Sensible Hue by Sherwin Williams.  I really love this shade of gray and how they turned out.  Jared professionally sprays stains and paints on pianos and the spray gun he used only takes oil paint.  That's why we used an oil paint rather than a laytex.

After searching the Internet for painting ideas, we decided to paint all the trim and molding the same as the cabinets.

We had to tape off the floors, windows appliances before Jared spayed the gray.

Found the darling canisters at Macy's yesterday!  I thought they matched my yellow tin really well!

While my mom was here this last week, we snuck away a couple of times and picked up some fun accessories.  Found a darling table cloth and mirror at Target, a couple of Teal (pops of color) vases at TJ Max and some candles at Hobby Lobby.

We also changed the light that went above my table.  I found the new light at Lowe's on sale for a really great price some time ago!

...and here are my new valencesThese are the 4th ones I've had in my Kitchen.  I really wanted to give them more of a modern look this time and again....after looking for ideas on the Internet, thought that horizontal pleats would give me the look I wantedI picked up the fabric at Pacific Fabrics.  Made my pleats first, left extra on the top to make a loop for the rod, added a lining by sewing right sides together and then flipping it right sides out.  Pressed really good and then folded and sewed the extra fabric I allowed for the loop.  They were very easy and fast to do up!

Next up is our little bathroom that sits off our kitchen. ;o)

Ty is just over a month now.  He's all limbs right now, long arms and long legs.
We are having so much fun with him!
