Yellow has been my favorite color as long as I can remember. I've painted many shades of yellow in different rooms of my house throughout the last 15 years, to the point I started getting sick of yellow.
....so when I decided to paint my kitchen yellow with the encouragement of the husband and kids, I was really nervous. I didn't want to be stuck with a yellow kitchen I didn't like.....so I went searching for yellow paint colors on the web. I've learned from experience that picking out the right yellow is harder than it looks. The yellows I've used in my past have all had a gold tone and I knew I didn't want that for my kitchen. I then came across this picture and was completely inspired by yellow again!!
I had all ready picked out the gray to re-paint the cabinets and so now I just needed to find the right yellow to go with the gray.
I ended up going with "Optimistic Yellow" by Sherwin Williams and I LOVE IT!! It's a very happy and bright yellow!
It changes shades through out the day depending on what wall your looking at.
We started our Kitchen last Monday and finished late Friday night.....and it really was a bit to much for me but now I'm so glad it's done! I just have the valances to finish and then I will take pictures of the whole kitchen and explain in detail what we did!
My husband surprised me with these last night! Early Birthday present!!
