The fan block is a spin off from crazy quilts which were popular in the 1800s. The fan block and fan quilts became popular with the expansion of world wide trade and exposure to multiple cultures and designs.  This is our second version of this timeless block.  We were inspired by a red and white quilt at The Met in New York City.
