Challenge Day 5

It's day 5 of my 31 Day Challenge and I'm happy to say I did not get any customer quilting done!  Since starting my Longarm Quilting Business, I made the decision to take Sunday's off and sometimes it's just what I need.

I did want to take a minute, for those of you that don't know the longarm quilting side of me and tell you a little bit about it.

I quilt with a Gammill Classic.  It's a 2001 model and therefor is non-stitch regulated.  We bought it used and I've had it for about 5 years.  It's very simple, no bling, bling's and no computer.  I do everything freehand, unless I'm following a pantograph from behind the machine.  I took a few classes when I started quilting and admire many, many longarm quilters.  They were and still are my inspiration!

I usually don't plan ahead for a quilting idea on a quilt.  Most the time, the first time I see the quilt, is when I load it on the machine.    I just start quilting with no plan in mind and hope I will be inspired as I go.  Usually it works out and sometimes it doesn't.

I love quilting and I think a quilt isn't complete until it is quilted and that's pretty much my story.

I did have some piecing fun today.  Sunday is the one day I might post a piecing project and this little project is for a certain someone.  I'm hoping once she sees this she'll know it's for her.  I hope to quilt it next Sunday and put it all together, so I can ship it out!

This is the making's of another Quick Curve Ruler bag.  It really is simple to do up.  All you need is the Urban Pod's Pattern.  Just follow the cutting and squaring up instructions with one exception and this is to leave an extra 1/4" on the outside curve pieces to allow for seam allowance and wa..la!!  A fun little Urban Pod's Bag.

I hope to do a pattern up for it soon!

Tomorrow, back to quilting!
