Flutterby gets its name from its resemblance to the butterfly! This block uses 4 squares of focus fabric to make 4 quarter square triangles. It’s a fusion of traditional piecing with easy no stress curved sewing utilizing the Quick Curve Ruler. No pins, no centering, no snipping- this one comes together quicker than a caterpillar can turn into a butterfly.
The Quarter Square Triangle (QST) is a foundational quilt block with a rich history in traditional and modern quilting. It evolved from early geometric quilting techniques and continues to be widely used today. This month’s Exclusive tutorial will walk you through how to create your own quarter square triangles.
Mark your calendars! Join us for an exclusive Live session every second Tuesday of the month at 12 pm MST. Zoom links will go out via email the day before the session & will also be posted on the Community page. Can’t make it? All sessions will be recorded and shared.
Rock the Block # 2: Links
Links is a fun variation of a rectangle in a rectangle that uses the Quick Curve Ruler. The center rectangle acts as a peek-a-boo feature of background fabric or another focus fabric that can be fussy cut. Turn it on its side and it almost looks like a butterfly! This pattern is free for Quilt Circle Members.
This design combines curves and traditional patchwork for a perfectly balanced quilt block. Each butterfly finishes at 15" square. The Wonder Curve Ruler is necessary for cutting curved shapes.
Butterfly Fields is the perfect combination of curved piecing and traditional patchwork! We are showcasing 20 different traditional patchwork designs. This variety is very engaging and produces a marvelous quilt with loads of eye candy.
Meet our super fun Posh Bunny! Bunny was born on March 26, 2020 in the middle of quarantine! Bunny was squeaking to be let out of the design book just two weeks before Easter 2020 - just couldn't wait any longer :-)
